Highlight Tour of the Photo Festival

Guided tour with our certificated Austria Guides through "AUSTRALIA & THE NEW WORLD"

SO BRITISH!

For the ninth time, the city of Baden will transform into a captivating world of visual storytelling by some of the world’s finest photographers from June 12 to October 11, 2026.

SO BRITISH! Great Britain and Europe share a thousand-year history marked by misunderstandings and hostilities, as well as admiration and respect. This may be due to the British tendency to do things differently: they drive on the left, have their own currency, play darts, believe in ghosts, and still maintain a monarchy. There is also a certain touch of eccentricity—where extravagance itself becomes an art form.

Many British photographers reflect this spirit. They are unmistakably British in their ability to capture the essence of their time with clarity and humor, becoming chroniclers of British society. Among them are Martin Parr, Tony Ray-Jones, Peter Dench, Josh Edgoose, Terry O’Neill, Anna Atkins, Gina Soden, Cig Harvey, and Mary Turner. Queen guitarist Sir Brian May, a passionate stereoscopic photographer and the world’s largest collector of this art form, presents “Stereoscopic Adventures in Hell”—a rare highlight from his collection.

The fragile ecosystem of our blue planet is explored by marine biologist and one of the leading underwater photographers of his generation, Laurent Ballesta; by Stéphane Lavoué, with his images of life at sea; and by Indian photographer Supratim Bhattacharjee, who documents the impact of climate change in the Sundarbans archipelago.
