Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo Review 2018
The best photographers in the world showed fascinating worlds of images in a four-kilometre long open-gallery, where garden art and photographic art merge.
Surprising perspectives full of sensual creativity!
Through the aesthetic magic of 36 picture narratives in 2,000 photographs on canvases of up to 300 m², the gardens, alleyways and squares of Baden were transformed into a "picture city".
The public space became the backdrop for a total work of art whose energy was nourished by two focal points: geography and environment. On the one hand, modern photographic art focused on a country or a continent: this year, it was mainly pictures from African portrait studios that told of the dreams of the people who live south of the Sahara. On the other hand, long-term reportages report on the touching and surprising relationships between humans and animals.
