Located on the edge of the Vienna Woods, the museum takes you on a journey through time into Baden's exciting past.
In five lovingly designed rooms, parts of the historically valuable collection are presented in an appealing way, creating an atmospheric experience for the visitor. The museum focuses on the influence of the Habsburg family on the development of the spa town in the last 100 years of the Danube Monarchy.
As an imperial summer residence and summer resort for many archdukes and archduchesses, Baden experienced a tremendous upswing in architecture and social life. Both the complex family structure of this oldest ruling dynasty in Europe, as well as the sometimes very difficult lives of ordinary citizens, are the subject of major

This contrasting period is illuminated in a modern way and made comprehensible to visitors young and old.
Further highlights are the valuable sacral collection, the so-called "Iron Hall", as well as the museum's extensive collection of uniforms and weapons. The exhibits are so varied and extensive that you will always discover new curiosities, even if you visit the museum several times.
As part of a guided tour (by appointment only) you can also visit our museum cave, which is inhabited by a population of bats.
