Description
Kurpark & Rosarium Baden - 200 years of rose tradition in Baden near Vienna
Baden near Vienna, known far beyond Austria's borders as an imperial summer residence, can look back on a long tradition as a city of garden culture. Whether in the Doblhoffpark with the largest rosarium in Austria or the historic Kurpark, right next to the Congress Casino - in Baden you can stroll through beautiful gardens. The Baden Rosarium in particular, with over 25,000 rose bushes of more than 900 varieties, offers international garden art at the highest level. It is therefore not surprising that the Biedermeier town was awarded the title of "Most Beautiful Flower and Garden Town in Europe" at the "Entente Florale 2005". The 8-hectare Doblhoffpark with its idyllic pond is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Baden. The restored baroque orangery provides a charming backdrop for long walks.
The extensive spa gardens, on the other hand, offer a beautiful landscape with historical attractions: a Beethoven temple with a magnificent view over the city, the music pavilion where short concerts are held daily in summer, several monuments to artists and emperors, the Undine fountain and a nostalgic park café. The garden is home to a variety of subtropical plants and features decorative floral ornaments. At Kalvarienberg, the spa park flows seamlessly into the black pine forests of the Vienna Woods with their many hiking trails.
