Description
From bathhouse to art museum! The Arnulf Rainer Museum presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art in dialog with classicist spa architecture. A special kind of art experience!
The Arnulf Rainer Museum combines an architectural jewel with the works of the world-renowned contemporary artist Arnulf Rainer. The clearly structured building of the Frauenbad from 1821 - which is located on the site of the former Frauenkriche - is based on a design by Charles de Moreau, one of the leading architects of French classicism. After the baths ceased operations in 1973, the building was used as a national exhibition center. In 2009, the Arnulf Rainer Museum, adapted to the highest technical and aesthetic standards, was opened. Since then, the work of the artist, who was born in Baden in 1929, has been presented and comprehensively communicated in changing exhibitions.
Guided tours & workshops for children, young people and adults to suit each exhibition.
