Myth Ludwig van

Exhibition in the Kaiserhaus Baden

9 November to 20 December 2020, Tue to Sun & public holidays 10.00 to 18.00

2020 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven. But who was this great musician? A genius? A rebel? A myth? Over the last two centuries, Beethoven has become a cult figure - and not just because of his music.

The exhibition at the Kaiserhaus in Baden deals with the question of when and under what circumstances the "Beethoven myth" was created and how it has changed over time. For each era created its own Beethoven.

The show is aimed at visitors who play Beethoven, but also at those who know him only by hearsay. It is aimed at those who love him, but also at those who hate him - and also at those who think Beethoven is a dog.
