"Aufbaden-Abbaden" Spa Culture in Baden

From March 23, 2024, everything will revolve around sulphur springs, medical history and spa remedies.

For centuries, spa guests from all over the world have drawn to the spa town of Baden in search of recovery and relaxation. They climb into the sulphur pools, stroll through the spa gardens, do gymnastics or doze in the sun at the lido. The smell of sulphur springs rising from the depths envelops the stories and fortunes of the spa town and its baths. Baden's spa culture reflects developments in medical history as well as social upheavals and political processes.

The exhibition “Aufbaden-Abbaden. Spa culture in Baden” delves back into the 18th century to uncover gripping spa histories and discover promising remedies. It makes sources speak and allows voices from the present to have their say in order to resurface in a possible future for the spa town.
